My story began in 2017.

My periods started to change in ways that were impossible to ignore. What had once been predictable four day cycles slowly turned into bleeding that lasted up to twenty days at a time. It wasn’t just inconvenient, it was exhausting. Physically and emotionally.

My oldest sister had gone through something similar, so I reached out to her for advice. She shared her experience with endometrial ablation. Her procedure had gone smoothly, and her symptoms had subsided. Hearing how much relief she found gave me hope.

After talking with her and discussing options with my doctor, I made the decision to move forward with the endometrial ablation procedure.

The surgery itself went well.

I woke up believing this chapter was behind me and that healing was finally on the horizon.

But the following month, my period was back.

I called the doctor’s office, concerned and confused. I was reassured that sometimes it takes time for periods to fully stop after the procedure. I was told to be patient. That my body was still adjusting.

So I waited.

Unfortunately for me, it wasn’t going to cease.

Not only did the bleeding continue, but over time the symptoms worsened. What I had hoped would be a solution became the beginning of something much bigger.

Before I fully understood what was happening, I found myself in an emergency room in Bangkok, Thailand.

Halfway across the world.

Scared.

In pain.

And searching for answers.

That moment marked a turning point in my journey.

What was supposed to be a straightforward procedure had begun to unravel into a series of complications I never anticipated.
